The summer has brought with it a plethora of International action at various age groups and the University has been widely represented. In Boston, USA, Sophie Bray, Kirsty Dawson and incoming fresher Sarah Haycroft helped England U21 to fourth place in the Women’s Junior World Cup after a 2-1 loss to Korea in the Bronze Medal playoff. The girls were unfortunate not to make the final after a gutwrenching golden goal loss to Argentina in the semi’s.  The result was England’s best ever.

On a senior level Nick Rees represented Wales men’s side (bronze medal) and Alys Brooks and Tina Evans the Ladies at the EuroHockey Nations. Andrew Gooderham was in the squad for the England v India series while Susie Gilbert has been named in the England Squad for the upcoming EuroHockey Nations in Amsterdam.
