The first half of the season for the ladies has gone as well as can be expected from the young debutants who lie in 5th place. They have been so close in all there encounters with the four teams above them in the league drawing to Reading and Olton and losing by the odd goal to Slough an undefeated Leicester side. Proof of their promise is that Leicester has only conceded four goals all season, two of which were scored by Birmingham. Sophie Bray is third top scorer in the league with 7 goals so far. In the cup they face local rivals Sutton Coldfield for a place in the semis where they got to last year.

The men made a promising start to the 2009/10 campaign with some terrific wins against Old Georgians and Guildford early on. However, since the defeat of Premier League giants Cannock in the cup there has been no joy. Despite patches of great play in every game it was never enough to secure three points. The men lie in 9th place going into the Christmas break but this is only six points behind second place and with Bath slipping up for the first time last week there is everything to fight. They are yet to play Belper in the Cup after it was postponed due to the weather.
