Mens Club Coach

The Men's side of the club are looking for a new Performance Director after the retirement of long standing UOBHC serviceman Malcolm Wood. 


Since 1940, the University of Birmingham has pioneered the development of physical education and sport at all levels. Today, University Sport Birmingham (USB) is one of the most recognised brands in Higher Education sport in the UK, attracting student athletes from across the country to study, train and compete. As an England Hockey NPC and top class sporting university we are seeking an outstanding coach to develop and support the achievement potential of our performance players and teams.

University of Birmingham Sport would like to appoint an experienced coach with strong personality, initiative and drive to maximise the potential of our athlete’s and help deliver a broad range of strategic objectives consistent with a top 3 University for sport in the UK. You should be technically astute and tactically adaptable with a proven pedigree in sport. More importantly, you will posses big match temperament, be passionate about what you do and committed to helping the University achieve and sustain its drive for sporting excellence on and off the playing field.

You must be at least Level 3 qualified with coaching experience and a track record of winning in BUCS and National League.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required as well as a commitment to developing hockey at all levels.  Ideally you will have an empathy with working within a student environment. 

You must be available to coach on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and attendance is required when Club members compete on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
