Birmingham started well with lots of energy after a delayed start. They dominated the pitch which resulted in an early lead, Lex cooling finishing after going one-on-one with the goalie. Spirits rose and Brum continued to play well. However Notts came back strong with an unbelievlibly rapid forward running rings round the Brummie girls. She was able to get a strike off at top-D to equalise.

Brum knew they had to step up the pace and proceeded to do so, finding the gaps well and placing their opponents under immense pressure, turning over the ball on numerous occasions. Dawson got a yellow for shoving a Notts girl in the back and Brum were left for ten minutes with only ten players. However Brum refused to be worn down and Stan scored for Brum to take the lead again. Brum were able to hold off a hungry Notts for the rest of the game to earn a hard-fought for victory.
